Does Cialis Stand Up to Viagra?

Any man who has suffered from erectile dysfunction will tell you that it can place a heavy strain on even the most solid relationship – and let’s not get started on the implications when it comes to self-confidence and how we view ourselves. While it’s great that there’s a  myriad of treatment options out there, the choice can be a bit overwhelming, and it’s difficult to know where to start in finding the right treatment cialisfor you.

While every man and his dog has heard of Viagra, the wonder drug of the late nineties that transformed the sex lives of men across the globe (and netted its manufacturer some serious cash), its alternatives may not be quite as familiar to you. One of these is Cialis – let’s take a look at what it has to offer.

Also known as Tadalafil, this product is produced by drug manufacturer Icos to treat erectile dysfunction and enlarged prostrate, and works by relaxing the body’s muscles and increasing blood flow to certain areas of the body.

Prescription Only

Cialis should be obtained via prescription and tends to be taken once a day either with or without food. To treat erectile dysfunction a 10mg pill should be taken before sexual activity – but never more than once a day. It’s also worth mentioning that this drug has been shown to be effective up to 36 hours after taking it, so be careful not to overdo it. Like Viagra, it’s important to remember that this drug helps assist the creation of an erection only when the body is aroused and sexually stimulated – in other words, it can’t create one out of thin air!

Risks and Side Effects

cialis-1This treatment has strong success rates with users, however like similar drugs it comes with a number of risks – especially when combined with other medicines. Any drug containing nitrates, including those for chest pain and heart problems, can all interfere with Cialis and cause sudden and potentially dangerous lowering of blood pressure.

This drug can’t be taken alongside other erectile dysfunction treatments, and it’s also recommended not to drink alcohol or grapefruit juice when taking Cialis.

It should come as little surprise, then, that you should let your doctor know if have suffered from any heart or heart rhythm-related problem, stroke, angina, low blood pressure, chest pain, any liver or kidney disease requiring dialysis, blood cell disorder, stomach ulcer or bleeding disorder when assessing your options.

The side effects most commonly associated with Cialis are similar to Viagra and other drug based treatments for erectile dysfunction – headaches, blushing, dizziness and nausea have all been reported by users. An important (albeit rarer) complication to note is the possibility of sudden vision loss – by decreasing blood flow to the eye’s optic nerve, some users with pre-existing eye problems or high cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure or heart problems have experienced this when using Cialis.

Natural Alternatives

Although generally not experienced by the vast majority of users, it’s little surprise that side effects like this are nudging people towards more natural treatment alternatives. But what options are out there and, more importantly, do they work? vigrx-plus-300x300

One product that we can recommend is VigRx Plus… Developed in the US, but now available worldwide it uses a power packed bunch of proven natural libido enhancing ingredients to mimic the effect of Cialis and Viagra without the potential health risks associated with these drug based treatments.
